    Doctor Who Worlds of Wonder

    This amazing exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland explores the science behind one of pop culture’s most famous wibbly wobbly, timey wimey temporal travellers. Explore the interactive Time Vortex Corridor and Sonic Screwdriver display, and answer questions such as, “Is time travel Possible” and, “Does extra-terrestrial life exist?”

    Dovecot Studios is diving into the history of knitwear in fashion, from traditional Scottish styles to modern high-end brands’ knitwear creations, including objects from the late and great Vivienne Westwood and drawing inspiration from punk, pop and cutting-edge innovations in the knitwear world, this exhibition can’t be missed by fashionistas and lovers of comfort alike.

    Burns Night: An Unforgettable experience

    We could not forget our own Burns Night event.

    Start your evening with a one-hour guided tour of The Real Mary King’s Close. You will explore the uniquely preserved streets and spaces underneath Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile where you will learn about the city’s dark past, listen to a recital of Burns poetry and raise a glass to Scotland’s favourite son.

    Then follow your tour with an exquisite three-course menu at Wedgwood The Restaurant, the multi-award-winning Scottish restaurant located on The Royal Mile. Chef Paul and his team look forward to celebrating Robert Burns with you.

    Dr Arnott’s Sampling Sensation

    Dr Arnott’s Sampling Sensation lets you taste the history of our close. Mary King’s Close’s local physician will take you on a journey into Edinburgh’s 17th-century medicine. You will get to sample and create remedies and concoctions yourself, and for the bravest among you… well there may be a WEE surprise in store.
