Celebrate the Platinum Jubilee this June by exploring a palace with historical and modern significance. The palace has connections to some of the most famous figures from Scotland’s history, such as Mary Queen of Scots. It is still used by The Queen when she is carrying out official engagements in Scotland. It is located at the end of the historic Royal Mile.

The National Museum of Scotland is celebrating Pride month with their Hidden Histories Trail. Explore their fascinating collections looking for objects connected to LGBTQIA+ history. The event is in collaboration with young people from Impact Arts, LGBT Youth Scotland and the Scotland 365 youth engagement team at National Museums Scotland.

Hear Real Stories from LGBTQIA+ History

We are celebrating Pride month at The Real Mary King’s Close! Through new research endorsed by Dr Emma Macleod from the University of Stirling, we are revealing the hidden histories of LGBT community life in Edinburgh from as far back as 1546 until 1912. The tours will also support a local charity, LGBT Youth Scotland. Journey back in time with the famous poet Robert Fergusson to guide you. You will also meet one of the Edinburgh Seven, Sophia Jex-Blake, and Dr James Barry.
