An English-speaking tour guide will lead your journey through The Real Mary King’s Close.

To make your experience even more immersive, download one of our free audio and multimedia guides to follow along in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch or Hungarian.

We also now offer British Sign Language (BSL) and International Sign Language (IS) versions, making our hidden history more accessible than ever.

Follow the steps below to get started.

IMPORTANT – earphones/headphones are mandatory for audio guides during the tour, so please remember to bring some. If you don’t have headphones, you can read the translation on the app. 

Step 1

Download the app “Mary King’s Close Audio Guide” on your smartphone.

Step 2

Choose Download Multimedia.

Step 3

Choose the Language you want to download and click “Yes”.

Step 4

Download the audio content.

Step 5

Click on “Start Tour”. The room menu will appear, choose a room and click play to listen to the audio.

Important

Ear/headphones are mandatory during the tour. Remember to bring them with you on the day of your visit. If you do not have earphones, you can also read the translation on your smartphone.
